Going Away!

That's right I'm leaving town for a couple of days. I'll write a post about Christmas when I get back but from the 30th till the 4th I'm going up to the lake to relax and start the new year on a good note.

I want to read, play the gamecube, watch movies, shoot fireworks ( yep I got fireworks, I'll take pictures if I can) and eat a lot...Not to mention have a wonderful time with my loving wife. These past months working all the time have really resulted in me needing to take some time off. Gotta keep the honeymoon going somehow.

Note to Zack and Lindsay: We'll have to do something in January...Think about it.

Note for Jane: I hope that you had a good Christmas in Prince George. Jacqui and I can't wait to hear about your trip...You take so many trips and we take so few.

See you in the new year!

New and Old

It has been a while since I've posted but I've been feeling just like Zack has. Sure lots of stuff have been going on but it's not interesting...or not worth me sitting at the computer and writing about it. So for the millions of people ( or 3 of you ) who look at this site here is what has been going on since my last post.

- My boss told me that she was ending my contract (9 months early) at GDML in december because the person who I was replacing took a permanent position in the lab. So I had to re-apply for a full time permanent position. I found out today that I got the job again. So I got hired for the same job that I was doing on a contract but now permanent. Woo hoo better benefits!

-I received my two awards on the 21st. They look like candy dishes with the GDML logo and the award name on them. Very nice.

- On the 21st my work car reached 111111 kms on it. I took a picture of it at work when it got there.

-Jacqui and I had our 6 month anniversary on November 20th. Look at how time flies already!

-We had our first oil fondue on the 22nd...Yummy. The chocolate one came after. I was so full from that.

- Computer got some bad viruses that ate my anti-virus software. I had to wipe the comptuer and reload everything. Wasn't as bad as I expected.

-Done my Christmas shopping!

That is about it for now.

6 Years!

Not many people know this but 6 years ago today I started dating Jacqui. 6 years! I've been hearing on the news that you can kill someone and get out in less then 6 years. Not that being with Jacqui has been like a jail sentence but I wanted to keep things in perspective.

These last 6 years have been wonderful with her and I can't see spending my life with anyone else.

I love you Jacqui.

Awarded!

This week I found out that I will be recieving 2 awards for my work at Gamma-Dynacare Medical Laboratories. One of them is the Innovation award and I am the only winner this year for our region. The Transportation Department won the Team Performance award ( so I get that too) and I was nonimated for the Team Player award but lost out on that to another good member of staff.

I like my job and I like doing those little extra's to make my job more enjoyable. I guess that is why I'm getting an award. I'm not really sure what I get out of it (if anything) but a paid day off or cash would be nice. LOL!

The letter for the Innovation award is below ( I blacked out some personal stuff)

Halloween 2006!

Well this past weekend was the time for halloween parties, so we went to two of them. Friday night was Jacqui's friend Leah's party and we had a good time there. A small group of about 12 people and it was fun. A good chance to chat and play some games too. One of the guys came as a flasher with some big "privates" that he flashed everyone with as they came in...what a way to some into the house eh?

I guess I should tell you who we were... I went as Lucius Malfoy from harry Potter and Jacqui went as a fairy. take a look at some pictures below.

On Saturday we went to Nathan's house and there was a big party. I would guess about 40 people in the house and it was really decorated up. These pictures are with the flash as you couldn't see things that well in the dark.

What a great party and very cool decorations there. Anyways a picture is worth a thousand words...
1:Jacqui on the left and my Mom as Tinkerbell on the right.
2: Me as Lucius Malfoy (How did I do Jane? Like the staff now as a cane?)
3: Jacqui, Me, Christine as the Mad Hatter and Curtis in the back as a wrestler (can't remember who)
4: A cage for a skeleton that dad made. (more will come on his decor for the house in a later post)

Hope you had a fun Halloween!

Jacqui's Birthday Week Part 2

This is a continuation of Jacqui's Birthday Week. We left off with a DVD and Chocolates on Tuesday so what did Wednesday Bring?

Wednesday September 13th
Today brought 2 bottles of Icewine...Yum...icewine We drank a bottle of it on Thursday for Jacqui's birthday supper and this is like drinking nectar, simply wonderful. Each bottle is 50ML so you drink it slowly. You don't need a lot to enjoy it.
Later we went over to her parent's and had birthday cake with my Grandma's, and both our parents and my cousin Casja came too.

Jacqui got the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire game for our Nintendo Gamecube from my parents and money from the grandma's. Her mom and dad (well her mom picked it out but he got his name on the card) got a lot of different things for her ranging for perfume to a pill timer to a Su Doku hand held game. what a haul...

Thursday September 14th - Jacqui's 24th Birthday!
Jacqui's actual birthday finally arrived and she had to wait till I got home from work. When I changed out of my work clothes she got a Tetris DS Game for the Nintendo DS. Jacqui loves Tetris and I know that she will play this game for many hours.
We had a wonderful supper at home with our Teryaki Chicken and rice and we had some chocolates and drank our icewine. What a wonderful end for Jacqui's birthday week.

Jacqui's Birthday Week

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Yes my lovely wife Jacqui is going to be 24 on Thursday the 14th. To celebrate her birthday I didn't want to just have her birthday on Thursday but to go wild and give her a birthday week with some special gifts though the days leading up to her Birthday.

Monday September 11th:
I was running late at work so I would be delayed in coming home...it was only a few minutes but I took the excuse and bought Jacqui two dozen roses for her 24th birthday...My dad days that when she is 50 I should give her a picture of 50 roses.

Tuesday September 12th
Today I told Jacqui that I was going to be late and I came home with some other gifts...We have been out of town a lot and this was the only chance I've had in months to buy her a birthday gift. It was a quick trip but I knew exactly what I wanted to get her...

The DVD of Empire Records. Jacqui had this on VHS but she watched it so many times that it wouldn't rewind less you sped it to the end and then forced the VCR to rewind it....DVD's don't have that problem.

Today was also 24 chocolates................ok 27 chocolates but that was because they didn't sell boxes of 24...3 chocolates for me then! Why did Jacqui get two in one day? Well she was saying that she would really love something sweet like chocolate and I had the box all wrapped up in my bag...so she got it early.

What tomorrow will being you'll just have to wait and find out.

New Contract, Old Job

Well Tuesday September 5th came and it meant that I got to start my new one year contract. I'm still working wit hthe same company but instead of spending every weekend working I'm now working Monday to Friday and it is more bankers hours then late night or early morning hours.

The nice part about working Monday to Friday with GDML is that I now have my own car to drive around. I'll spend the next year driving this car...I think I'll call her Emma (Come on Emma...Did you get the simpsons' quote there) but I'm still thinking about it. Below is a pic of the car...Wow a 2004 Ford Focus Wagon. This one is a middle of the road one as it has power mirrors and heated seats. No power windows or adjustable steering wheel but oh well, the heated seats will be nice this winter.

The car was really dirty when I got it because quite a few different people were driving it and you always seem to take better care of a car when you are the only one driving it. It is sitll kinda dirty but I socked it down with soap then I got a STAT call so I had to do a quick rinse off and then go pick up the STAT. Oh well, it'll happen.

I'll write more about my first week and about the long weekend but I have to get up and go to work tomorrow then we're off to the lake again.

Oh Zack, I hope your foot gets better ( see his blog, link on the right)

Nintendo DS

It finally happened. After some saving and selling my old system on E-bay I had enough money to buy a Nintendo DS Lite. The Lite is different from the normal DS and many people say it is better. I know that Mark likes it and he has a normal DS. Here's some pics.

This first one is a little dark but it is worse with the flash on. It is the DS lite itself. Very cool looking.

This next picture is with the TEGO skin on it. Very cool and I got it free (read my post on how I got it below)

So with some left over cash I bought Big Brain Academy for it. Very cool game and it makes you think. Just what I need right? Well I've played it at the lake these last 2 weeks and it's been worth having when you have a free minute.

That's all for now.

My Gameboy Sold

That's right it sold. It was an interesting 7 day auction that saw 12 bids on it. The auction ended with it selling for 56 dollars USD or about 62 dollars CAD. I was very happy with that and now the money order is on the way so I can put that toward my Nintendo DS fund.

My parents are going to Alberta ( the land of no PST) so I gave them money and they are going to buy my DS there saving me some tax. Good deal for me.

I'm also getting a TEGO skin for the top of the DS that will help protect it and make it stand out. I'll take a picture when it arrives and gets on the DS. Those tego skins are cool because you can put them on almost anything from PDA's to Laptop's to cell phones to gaming systems. Check out the link and buy one for yourself...I got mine for free...

FREE? How did I get it for FREE you ask? Well I've been entering icoke credits this summer and I've been getting free stuff. One of them is the skin for my new DS. Free movie passes are good too. So drink Coke and get free stuff!

Woo Hoo DS for me!

Buy my Game Boy!

OK I've hopped on the eBay wagon. It's time for someone to buy my gameboy because I want a Nintendo DS Lite. Jacqui says I'm a geek but she helped me list it on eBay.

Look at all the good stuff you get:
-A very good condition Game Boy Advance SP (no little kid fingers on it)
-Cool charger (good for keeping it working)
-A charger base (for when you don't want it just sitting anywhere)
- A clear cover (so you don't wreck the finish when you're eating ships and playing)

YOU GO BUY IT NOW!

The last 2 and a half months

Alright it's been a while since I've made any posts on here so I'm going to be writing them now. It's been an interesting past few months and I think I can share them with you now in written form. My friends I've seen have heard a lot of it but there is more to tell also.

So this week I'm going to be adding in posts and stamping the date published as when the events took place.

James' New Job

Well it's not a new type of job but it is different. I applied for a courier position full tie and I didn't get it the first time around. But a week later I found out I got a contract postion for 1 year working 37.5 hours a week (full time for us).

So Starting September 5th 2006 for 1 year I'm going to be working Monday to Friday (and every 6th Saturday) instead of working every weekend. Now I'm going to be able to go out with my friends and have people over on the weekends. I'm excited.

Now you might be saying "James why are you taking a 1 year contract?"

Well the answer is this. I'm going to be taking some classes online this year and I didn't want to be working for only 2 days a week. I feel that I can take the online classes and work. The hours at work aren't bad and I know I'll have time to get the course work done. I have 3 classes ot take and I'm going to take 2 at once and then 1 after that. Each class can take up to 6 months so that is 12 months at most of online classes for me...See how it matches up with a 12 month contract?

Well it's going to be excitiing for me but we'll see how I feel a few months into it.

At the Cabin

Well it's happened. With not taking classes during the summer I've actually had the chance to enjoy it. So we packed up some bags, grabbed the dog from Jacqui's parents and went out to the lake.

Fur Lake is located by the town of shell lake and only has a handful of cabins there which makes it nice and quiet to visit.

We went out to the lake twice, each for 5 days so here some pictures from both times. (the pictures are small because Blogger was having problems during uploading)

Here is Jacqui doing some scrapbooking during our 2nd trip to the lake. During that week we did over 30 pages for our scrapbook....That is a lot but it is well worth it.
Here I am sitting on the deck one evening while we are in the middle of a Scrabble game. Jacqui loves playing Scrabble and I'm starting to like it too.During our first week we had a lot of rain and here it is coming off the cabin beside ours.On our last day of our 2nd trip Jacqui's Dad came out and took Jacqui fishing. Look at what Jacqui caught!

So yes we had lots of fun out at the lake and we're planning again to go in August before I start my new job.

The Gift Opening

The wedding night was great. (wink wink) There, that is all I'm going to say on that. Well we did Stay at the Saskatoon Inn and breakfast brought up to us in the room was good too. Now I'm done on that part.

The Gift Opening was at a hall in Martensville and we had about 50 people I think show up for it. It was good to see everyone that day as the whole wedding was a whirlwind of activity.

There was lots of good food and I think everyone got thier fill there. For those who drank too much last night, a cold beer was there waiting for them. (I'm told it helps a hangover)

What a list of gifts from many wonderful people. With all the cash from family we've decided to put it toward a bedroom suite when we get a house...Maybe I can get a entertainment unit too.

Other gifts included
An Indoor electric grill, 800 euros (300 from Mark) for our honeymoon, new toaster, coffee maker, wok, grimmauld place sign (from Jane, see the picture), duvet, sheets (1 set was 800 thread count), Crystal bowls, dishes, cutlery, royal albert tea cups, a wine bottle fridge, deep fryer, art, and a lot of other things that are making my eyes spin.

We didn't have a lot of time to really enjoy them right away because we had to leave for Paris the following morning. They were all really wonderful and we'll get a lot of use out of them in the future.

On to the Honeymoon!

Our Wedding Day part 2

Well we were on our way to have pictures done...But first we got o travel in the RV. Now my grandparents gave us the RV to use and it was really nice as we could have cold drinks in there, mirrors to use and lots of places to put our stuff so that was quite nice.

We first went to Picture Perfect to get studio pictures done. That took about 2 hours and was quite boring. Now Jacqui told everyone not to go across to Arby's for something ot eat as she didn't want them to spill anything on thier dresses or suits...Well when we went in our pictures of the two of us they ran over and got something...Way to Listen!

EDIT: Yah ok...I know Zack didn't go to Arbys as he felt it would just be a tease until the supper. I forgot to put that in but Zack reminded me about it today.

Next were the photos at the University. We went in front of the college building because they finished restoring it this year. This is where Lindsay really shone. Zack's girlfriend Lindsay and really do some amazing photographs and we were quite sorry that we had to pick photos from Picture Perfect as her's were much better. Oh well we paid for them already so we had to pick some.

Anyways Lindsay did wonderful pictures (see my profile picture for an example) and there were a lot of them too. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting wedding or family pictures (or any pictures for that matter).

Final part of the wedding day comes in part 3.

Our Wedding Day part 1

What a wonderful day. It all started early for me (well not as early as Jacqui) but I was up at 8 AM and had a good breakfast and paced around the house and started to get myself ready. At 10 Zack, Mark and Brett came over and we went over to the hall to help Randy move the beer in. Finishing that we returned to the house and put our suits on.

12 noon came and we went in the RV to the church while we had some pictures taken before hand and where I sat in a chair getting more nervous all the time. Don't get me wrong, I was excited about getting married but I didn't want to screw anything up in the Church. I'm not comfortable in churches and I didn't want to remember forever my screwed up wedding service where I dropped the rings, or fell down the stairs or something stupid like that.

Anyways Here is Jacqui walking down the aisle. When she was walking down my heart stopped. She was so beautiful in that dress that I can't describe it properly. You'll just have to look at the picture for yourself.

We did it, we got married. (yah that description is a little weak but what do you want me to say) The church service was a blur to me and I wanted to get it over so I could get to the kiss. That is the important part in my eyes.

There were lots of pictures after in the recpetion area of the church and then we had to go and get pictures done and Picture Perfect....

What happens next? Look for "Our Wedding Day part 2"

3 Sleeps till the Wedding

Well this week has been interesting to say the least. With the wedding being this week it has brought out some of the worst in Jacqui and myself. We're fighting like crazy...mainly because we've been running on little sleep and also because we have a long list of stuff to get done. Things like cleaning the house, packing for Paris, and final wedding stuff that only we can do.

We're still excited for the wedding but I can't wait for it to be over. by last week I was tired of the word "wedding" but it is going to be coming up a whole lot more in the next few days...maybe a walk to get a slush at Mac's will calm me down.

Anyways we were given some Euros as a wedding present from some people that couldn't make it to saskatoon so that is really cool...just a little "fun money" is a good thing.

Oh and 2 nights ago I went to London Drugs and picked up Ski Resort Extreme for only 5 bucks. I love skiing and being able to build my own resort is interesting. Can't wait to play it some more.

Anyways this is my last post until we return from Paris...Until then!

10 Sleeps

Well I'll go to sleep 10 more times and then I will be married...wow...strange when you say it like that. Just 10 days till the wedding and we're getting rushed off our feet.

Some of the highlights:
-Took the digital camera to customs to declare it in canada so I don't have problems with it overseas or bringing it back. I did forget about the digital card inside it but I don't think that I'll have a problem with it. The camera is the main thing.
-Built the arch for the hall last week and got it all lit up. We should be able to fit it in the back of the Van when we go to the hall.
-Been cleaning the walls and doing other spring cleaning. I cleaned the entire bar area out today and washed everything. Want your drink in a clean glass? Well I have lots of clean glasses now.
-Picked up magazines for the plane...it'll be a long flight there so I better have something to read.
-I've been counting the guest list every other day...we're at 150 people so it'll be a good wedding with everyone there.
-We meet with our organist on Tuesday as we need someone to play at the church. We just hope that he meets up to what Jacqui expects (she is also an organist for those who don't know so she has high standards). The problem is we're meeting him the week of the wedding so he has to do it...we can't get anyone else.
-Ordered Euros this week. 200 Euros come out to about 295 dollars. I sure could use more before we go (wink, wink)

That's it for what I can remember at 1 in the morning. Better get to bed.

....Oh and Zack, Congrats on getting the new place. Let me know when you want some help after the 31st (as we arrive back in Canada on the 30th).

Night.

Am I going to be tired

Well Zack and Lindsay came over last night for some visiting, good times. Anyways after they left at about 11 Jacqui and I played on our Gamecube till about 2 in the morning. I figured that I could sleep in so why not?

Well 6 Am rolls around and my boss calls me..."James how would you like to do courier 3 for today and tomorrow?"

I wanted more shifts at work and I told him so last week so I said yah I'll be there in 2 hours. So now it's 7 Am and I've only slept for 4 hours and I get to go in a car and drive for another 8. Don't get me wrong the extra money is nice but I'm sure going to be tired.

Lesson of today....Turn off the ringer.

I'll write more about today later when I get home...that way we know I made it.

(and I was concerned about Zack being tired...bah.)

The past few weeks

Well I'm back from my break and the past few weeks have been interesting. What to talk about...

Final Exams:
I had 5 exams ranging in topcs from Ethical Theory to Stastics to Operations Management to Calculus to Economics. It was a real wide range. I think I did alright in Ethical Theory and I did ok in Economics, but those other 3 classes I'm not sure. They are heavy math and I'm not a math person at all. In any case If I have to take them again I'm going to pick prof's that speak English for a change.

Late Night Study Sessions:
We did 8 of these nights working from 10 PM to 6 in the morning. It was really busy at the start but as more exams finished there were less people that were there. It was easy work but we really worked with some useless sacks of sh*t there. Like comeon on if you're goingto put "reserved" signs on the door then put them up nicely and when you take them down, take the tape off so they don't stick together in one big pile. How hard is that?
I really liked when we came back after a few nights off and the carts were so messy that it took 45 minutes to clean it up...There was popcorn in the coffeemaker and popcorn oil all over the place.

Working:
I've had a long weekend from hell and a really nice and easy weekend so they have evened out. The long weekend, there was a machine down so the hospitals kept me really busy. That added to the patients coming into emergency with all their problems just made a busy night even worse. Don't get me wrong I still like my job but some weekends are better then others.

The Wedding:
Plans are moving along with it and we have a lot to do in may. We built the arch for the hall already so it can be moved and put in place. That will save 2 hours work at the hall. We have to meet with our photographers (Lindsay we've gotta meet sometime.), we're meeting with the priest today (he just rebooked our meeting to later today as he has to go to a funderal), and Jacqui is meeting he seamstress today. I'm getting my pants hemmed by Jacqui's mom and we're adding up the final numbers for how many people. Busy times.

My Friends:
I'm sorry to say that I haven't really had any time to visit to talk much with any of my friends. Working those two jobs thsi month and studying for exams have made that almost impossible. I know that next week will be better and that I can go out with them. Gotta make time for friends.
---------

Well that's it for now. More to come. (oh and I turned comments back on now)

Taking a break

It has been just over 2 weeks since I wrote anything on my blog. Yah that is a long time on the internet but interesting things have been happening in my world.

2 weekends ago my aunt came into town with the new baby. It was my first time to see him and he is just a wonderful little baby. It was a good change to reconnect with my family and even though I had to work that weekend (as I work every weekend) It was still nice. See the picture of my new cousin with me.

Just this past weekend Jacqui had family on her side come into town for her wedding shower. I think about 30 people where there and it was a good time for her. As my mom said "You got a big haul" and she was quite right. Lots of gifts were showered upon Jacqui and she really enjoyed it.

While Jacqui was getting ready for her shower on Sunday I was having breakfast with my good friend Mark. We decided to go to Smitty's and just have a chance to visit. It was unexpected that he came into town so it was good to see him. We asked Zack but he was at a pancake breakfast at Melissa's (Lindsay's sisters) Church. Blessed pancakes must be really good...I've never had them before. Anyways It was good to visit with Mark and hopefully he'll have another unexpected weekend off where the 3 of us can go out again.

I'm now about to enter my final exams for this term and time is getting shorter for me. You can expect this to be my last post till the end of April when these classes are done and I have more free time to write my thoughts and feelings.

See you later.
-James

New Glasses!

Well It happened. I went to the eye doctor and found out that I need glasses. It's not that I can't see, I can see better than 20/20 ( 20/15 in fact!) but the muscles in my eyes are wanting to go outward and not stay straight ahead. So I have a prism put in these glasses and that will train the muscles to go back to normal. Does that make sence?...Lets try an example

You know when you see people walk and they walk with thier toes pointing outward like the penguin? Same thing with the muscles in my eyes. The glasses will make them normal. The good news is I should only wear them when I have eye strain or when my eyes are tired. So it should be less than 10 hours a week. If I wear them too much then my eyes will get used to them and become dependant on them. I don't want that.

Here's a picture of me with my new look. I picked some cool glasses (hey if I only have to wear them for at most 10 hours a week, they should be cool)

Now I just need to prevent (or quit) dropping them.
...
...
...
Ok now it's time for my friends to give me lots of praise for my new glasses...come on....

So Many Cell Phones

It's been a week since I updated my blog and boy did I want to do it sooner. Time to play around on the internet is getting shorter every day.

Last weeked brought me 8 new cell phones. They weren't mine but they were our new work phones...That means however that I needed to program all the phones as they went active on Monday at 0600 hours. I had 48 hours to do it in...Very tiring to do that and your job on top of it but I got it taken care of. Over 200 phone numbers entered in later and I know those phones like no one else. My boss was very happy that I completed that.

This week I've been studying for a economics exam and I have a Calculus exam tomorrow. Once I get those out of the way I have a paper due on Tuesday that I need to work more on. I know what I'm spending every moment until then on!

Anyways There will be more news tomorrow night...Got some good stuff coming up. you'll see!

"A celebration of James" - Zack

Well at long last I finally decided to write some of the things about last Saturday. It started at about 9:30 AM when Zack came over and I loaded up my skis, snowblades (really short trick skies), and my ski bag into his Jetta and we headed off to blackstrap for a day of skiing. We got there and Zack got his snowboard equipment and I got ready. We headed over to the chairlift but when we got to the top it was bloody cold. I mean really cold...So about 40 minutes later we went into the lodge for a hot chocolate and Zack ended up injuring his ankle or something like that. A tendon was strained I think. So while his leg was on fire I went out for a few more runs myself and I had a good time. 2 hours later from when we arrived, we went back on the highway and came back to Saskatoon. It was really good we came back when we did becasue the highways were crap and we probally would have been stuck if we waited later. Good timing on our part.

So we got some clothes from our houses and trunks and we went to my parents to go into the hot tub to relax a bit. Mark came over there and let us and we ended up going to Montana's for drinks and supper. It was a good meal and a good time just visiting with him. Mark doesn't come into town that often now with his job but it was good timing that he came when we did.

We had about 2 hours before we were meeting everyone at "The Broken Cue" so we went to McNally Robinson so Mark could buy a new book and we went and played some racing games at Ruckers for a while. Mark kept on telling the 17 year old girl that this was my stag and he was having a good laugh about it.

8 PM we arrived at the Cue and we played pool and visited till about 11 PM. It was good visiting with everyone. Let's see....Randy (Jacqui's Dad), Jim (My Dad), Bob (My Uncle), Grandpa Harold, Nathan, Dallas were the older ones and then Zack, Mark, and Scott were there. I also had My Friend's Kerri and Lindsay there and that was good as it wasn't a traditional Stag night for me but as Zack said..."You know it's not a normal stag for you. I guess it's more of a celebration of James". So everyone was to celebrate me dammit.

I'm told the food was bad (as Mark had a wing that was bloody on the inside) and the beer was going flat or already flat. Randy wasn't happy about that and I'm told he had talk with the owner about the service there. Otherwise it was a good time there and I enjoyed being with so many people who were thinking about me.

After pool, the younger croud went to BP's for another snack and to chat a bit. It was a nice end to a great day.

I would like to thank my friends who were there to share this moment with me. I only get one of them and I want you to know how much it means to me. Thanks!

First Wedding Present

Well it's been a while since I wrote to my blog but I wanted to share with you the first wedding present. Jacqui and I were talking about a digital camera. Ok I was talking about it and Jacqui was saying "yah it would be nice" but I kept on talking about it. Anyways Jacqui's parents said that they would get us this camera as part of our wedding presant from them and then we could use it, test it out and then take it with us on our honeymoon. Super stuff.

So we picked up the camera and we got money for a SD card for it (which we'll get whern we find a good one on sale) as well.

It's Polaroid PDC 5355 camera. It is 5.3 Mega Pixels with a 3X optical Zoom and a 4X Digital (making 12X total...Math woo hoo!) It's really nice and we're going to test it out and see how it prints different sizes so we know what to expect for when we go to Paris. You really wouldn't want a crappy pictures of the Eiffel Tower now would you?

Now with the camera in hand I can stop telling people "I want a digital camera" over and over. Now it's "I want rechargeable batteries for it" (and that is now on our registry).

Expect me to write more tomorrow on how my Saturday was. Good times but long day.

Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie

Ok i'm not Grandpa Simpson walking in to get his pension but Jacqui and I did go to Sears today. We did our wedding registry. It took about 90 minutes to walk though the store and we only selected just over 50 items. Among my favorites are the Digital Camera (a 6MP Sony for less than 300 bucks) and the home appliances.

We've told people that we're only registering at one place so if you print out the list and see it somewhere else, more power to you.

The registry can be found here and all you have to do is enter in one of our names and select Saskatchewan.

....PS... I would really like the digital camera as I want one for Paris.

We're going to Paris!

Sounds exciting doesn't it? Well yesturday Jacqui and I booked our plane ticket with Air Canada to go to Paris. We'll leave on May 22nd (2 days after the wedding) and we'll come back on the 30th. It's going to be very exciting. We were thinking that we would go in October but when Jacqui saw this deal we thought it was worth it for a few reasons:
1: It saves us over $1000 bucks on airfare
2: We don't have jobs set up after school and they probally won't be there on the day after graduation so we should go.
3: It ensures that we don't put off our honeymoon.
4: We don't have to go on a "mini-honeymoon" then take the real one in October.
5: The jobs we get will be happy that we don't need the time off in October
6: The hotel looked like they had a cheeper rate for this time of year
7: Wedding money could be spent on the trip (if Jacqui goes for it too) LOL!

The Trip there is a real milk run though. Saskatoon to Toronto... wait for a while...Toronto to Monteral...Wait for a little while... Monteral to Paris. Reverse that on the way home and it makes for a 24 hour trip each way.

We've booked the Hotel now. We're staying at the Hotel Saint Honore which is only a very short distance from the Louve. and is central to a lot of attractions and other things we want to do. Lucked out on the rate of about $100 bucks a night.

The picture looks like a nice little hotel. The insides looked nice and the reviews were good.

Now we're looking at airport transfers to and from the hotel and we're looking at a river tour and the hours and costs of the attractions.

Closer to home we're going to try to work more at the University to have extra cash as more money is always a good thing. I wanted to save up and buy myself a digital camera but I don't think I'll get one now unless it is a wedding present. So if a group of people are looking at getting me something I could use a nice digital camera. (I won't hold my breath)

More on the trip to come.

Our Trip to the Lake

Well we made it back from our vacation to the lake for a 5 days. It got really cold out there. Way colder then it was in Saskatoon. It got as cold as -37 degrees C (and that was out on the deck protected from the wind). It was much colder walking out in the wind to go to the outhouse.

I don't care what anyone says, when you have to go outside to take a crap or wizz MY minus 37 (plus wind) will beat your minus 37 (plus wind) anyday. Something about dropping your pants and feeling the wind whip up your backside from the outhouse or whipping it out in the cold to pee in the snow.

Anyways go over to Jacqui's blog (link on the right...that's it go over) and see some pictures that she put up of our trip.

It was a good trip, I got no homework done, Played The Sims 2 for about 12 hours this week and read "The DiVinci Code" (it was a good book). Now it's back to the grind of work and school...oh well, at least I have the Olympics to watch.

Jacqui's On the Interweb

Ok it's not the Interweb but Interweb is funny. I hear it all the time from people who don't know anything about the internet or computers. It's also from the Simpsons.

Anyways Jacqui now has a blog. It can be found at www.jacquiscool.blogspot.com . Now you're not really cool unless you say you are and Jacqui says she cool. Her Mom didn't say that she was cool though like my mom (ok well mom didn't say I was cool) but you get the point.

Gotta go. Jacqui just asked me to "Cook" her a Grapefruit. (meaning to cut it and prepare it because I do it SOOOO much better.)

Now you have something to put on your Blog Jacqui. "James is being mean to me."

Just ask the Critic

Unless you're Zack or Kerri, you probably won't get this but If I asked you "who's gay" you would probably not know to say "MacGyver's Gay." It's from the Simpsons. Well here is a priceless ad that has MacGyver in it as I think that you all should see it.

Ok now you can go and click on "Just ask the Critic" above.

The Couch Arrived

Well Thursday way the day. We got out couch. It's very nice and we enjoy it as it gives the room a whole new feel. Jacqui's dad brought his truck and we picked it up at The Brick and then brought it in. We thought that getting it down the ctairs and around the corner would be hard but it wasn't. We moved the futon out and then put the legs on the couch and took it for a test seat.

It's shorter than the futon but it is much nicer. Below is a picture of it in its new home.

Ok Zack now you can come over sometime and take a seat and hopefully your butt won't go numb. Happy?

In other news I'm working this weekend (no surprise there) but next week I have 4 midterms in 4 days so no one should bother me till friday morning as I'm not going to be the happiest person in the world.

New Look

OK I changed it from a black background to a while one becasue my eyes have been sore lately. I know I have to book some time with the eye doctor and it is easier to read black on white (look at newspapers)

Hope you can deal with the change.

Also did you see the new picture of Jacqui and I on the side. That was from Christmas.

I have also added a link to Jacqui's Friend Jane and her blog (hope she doesn't mind but it's a good link for me to read it too). Jane is a wonderful person who is as big of a Harry Potter fan as Jacqui is (who ever thought that there would be two of them).

Enjoy my changes.
James

Jacqui is sick

Well its not the greatest news around but yes Jacqui is sick. It all started when her sister got broncitius (sp?) and then probally passed it on to her. Well Jacqui hasn't been feeling well and I've done all I can to take care of her today while not getting sick (and not extending my own misery from being at the dentist)

Yes I was at the dentist. They worked on my bottom left side and did 4 fillings. It was a long process taking about 2 hours. It was neet that she used a laser to cut into my gumline to get to the bottom of a cavity. I guess only 3 dentists in Saskatoon can do this with only about 5 in Saskatchewan. It is interesting. It pops like a micro popcorn maker on speed. It was interesting but my face is sore still (and it's almost 12 hours later)

Well I better continue on getting my education and get some more work done before I go and sleep on the couch (if Jacqui's sick I don't want her breathing on me all night)

Guess I'll write more when I wake up or something...Night.

We own furniture

OK well we do own stuff already but we just bought new furniture together. We wanted a new couch for a long time as everyone says that when you sit on our futon for too long your ass goes numb.

Well that problem should be no more. We went to the Brick and found a new couch, paid for it and come Thursday noon it will be in our living room.

Here's a picture of it:

As you can see it's black and it's a fake leather. Otherwise known as PVC. It should wear nicely and since I don't have a large bottom I shouldn't make a grove in it.

I'll get a picture of it once it's in the living room so you can see how nice it makes everything else looks...Time to go to class for the night.

And according to the 5 comments I have it must mean that I have more than 1 friend who reads this. Woo Hoo!

So are you Stupid?

I think a lot of people are stupid. For those of you who think you are smart check this link out.

The Stupid Quiz said I am "Fairly Smart!" How stupid are you? Click here to find out!

Oh and make sure to comment to me on what your score is....If only Zack replies it also means that I only have one friend (but that is not what we are testing here is it?)

Election

Since today is our Federal Election I thought I would post a joke. We all know how big a joke elections are...

While vacationing on a ranch, Paul Martin gets thrown from his horse,
lands on a rattlesnake, gets bitten and dies because the emergency
room at the nearest hospital is too understaffed to treat him in time.
So his soul arrives in Heaven and he is met by St. Peter at the Pearly
Gates.

"Welcome to Heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems
there is a problem. We seldom see a Liberal around these parts, so
we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in; I'm a believer." says Martin.

"I'd like to just let you in, but I have orders from the Man Himself.
He says you have to spend one day in Hell and one day in Heaven. Then
you must choose where you'll live for eternity."

"But, I've already made up my mind, I want to be in Heaven," replied
Martin".

"I'm sorry, but we have our rules." And with that, St. Peter escorts
him to an elevator and he goes down, down, down, all the way to Hell.

The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a lush golf
course; the sun is shining in a cloudless sky, the temperature a
perfect 72 degrees. In the distance is a beautiful clubhouse.

Standing in front of it is his Dad, and thousands of other Liberals
who had helped him out over the years---Pierre Trudeau, Jean Marchand,
Pelletier, St Laurent, etc. The whole of the "Left" was there,
everyone laughing, happy, and casually but expensively dressed. They
run to greet him, hug him, and reminisce about the good times they had
getting rich at the expense of 'suckers and peasants.' They play a
friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster and caviar.

The Devil himself comes up to Martin with a frosty drink, "Have a
Margarita and relax, Paul!"

"Uh, I can't drink anymore, I took a pledge," says Martin, dejectedly.

"This is Hell, son. You can drink and eat all you want and not worry,
and it just gets better from there!"

Martin takes the drink and finds himself liking the Devil, who he
thinks is a really very friendly guy who tells funny jokes like
himself, and pulls hilarious nasty pranks, kind of like they pulled on
the GST and Free Trade promises. They are having such a great time
that, before he realizes it, it's time to go. Everyone gives him a big
hug and waves as Martin steps on the elevator and heads upward.
When the elevator door reopens, he is in Heaven again and St. Peter
is waiting for him. "Now it's time to visit Heaven," the old man says,
opening the gate.
So for 24 hours Martin is made to hang out with a bunch of honest,
good-natured people who enjoy each other's company, talk about things
other than money, and treat each other decently. Not a nasty prank or
frat boy joke among them; no fancy country clubs and, while the food
tastes great, it's not caviar or lobster. And these people are all
poor, he doesn't see anybody he knows, and he isn't even treated like
someone special!

"Whoa," he says uncomfortably to himself. "Pierre Trudeau never
prepared me for this!"

The day done, St. Peter returns and says, "Well, you've spent a day
in Hell and a day in Heaven. Now choose where you want to live for
eternity."

With the 'Jeopardy' theme playing softly in the background, Martin
reflects for a minute, then answers: "Well, I would never have thought
I'd say this -- I mean, Heaven has been delightful and all -- but I
really think I belong in Hell with my friends."

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down,
down, all the way to Hell. The doors of the elevator open and he is in
the middle of a barren scorched earth covered with garbage and toxic
industrial waste, kind of like Sudbury. He is horrified to see all of
his friends, dressed in rags and chained together, picking up the
trash and putting it in black bags. They are groaning and moaning in
pain, faces and hands black with grime.

The Devil comes over to Martin and puts an arm around his shoulder.
"I don't understand," stammers a shocked Martin, "Yesterday I was
here and there was a golf course and a clubhouse and we ate lobster
and caviar, drank booze. We lazed around and had a great time. Now
there's just a wasteland full of garbage and everybody looks
miserable!".

The Devil looks at him, smiles slyly, and purrs, "Yesterday we were
campaigning; today you voted for us!"

Do you like Beer?

If you're a fan of a nice beer guys (and yes many of you are) then click on the link above to see more. Have the sound on too.

Hey Zack, Remember your birthday when that BBBBBIIIIIIGGGGG Girl was hitting on Mark and it was only little old me to keep her away? Well you'll really like this.

Why Computers Sometimes Crash! By Dr. Seuss.

Jacqui got this from her mom and I think that anyone who has used Windows will understand. To really enjoy it read it aloud to yourself - it's great!

------------------------------------------------
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,

And the bus is interrupted at a very last resort,

And the access of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
Then the socket packet pocket has an error to report.

If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash, And the

double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash,

And your data is corrupted cause the index doesn't hash,
Then your situation's hopeless and your system's gonna crash!

If the label on the cable on the table at your house,
Says the
network is connected to the button on your mouse,

But your packets want to tunnel
to another protocol,
That's
repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall.

And your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss,

So your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse;

Then you may as
well reboot and go out with a bang,
'Cuz sure as I'm a poet, the
sucker's gonna hang.

When the copy on your floppy's getting sloppy in the disk,
And the macro code instructions are causing serious risk,

Then you'll have to flash the memory and you'll want to RAM your ROM,
And then quickly turn off the computer and be sure to tell your Mom!
------------------------------------------------

Well that clear it up for me...what about you?
Thank you Bill Gates, for bringing all this into our lives!

Gotta Love Christmas

Well Christmas was a great event this year as I spent it with my wonderful fiancé and our two families. I think that everyone liked the presents that we gave them and I know that I loved the presents that I got. Want to hear about it? The list is below:

From my Friends:

From Mark I received a Klingon Bathleth sword set with the stand of the Klingon logo holding the two up made by my dad. I must say that it was an amazing gift. Thanks Mark!

From Zack I received a Mastercraft sure shot stapler (contractor version) and a crap load of staples. I know this will come in handy soon. A great gift Zack. Thanks again.

Kerri surprised me and gave me the collectors version of Lord of the Rings Monopoly. Now I collect Monopoly sets so this was a great board to add to the collection.

From Jacqui:

It was a Simpson’s Christmas from her and she didn't even plan it that way. I got season 6 box set of The Simpson’s, The Simpson’s Road Rage for Nintendo Game boy Advance, and a Simpson’s Christmas ornament. It's of Homer as Santa and he steps on Snowball the cat. When you press the button it goes "(snowball) Meow!...(homer) Doh!"

Jacqui you know how much I love it all and I can't thank you enough.

From my Family:

K this is getting longer than I thought so I need to keep the comments brief. Everyone knows I loved it all and still do.

-Dad made the Klingon stand for my Klingon swords.
- Mom and Dad got me the Movie Enterprise Hallmark Ornament.
-Christine got me a Rotary Tool.
-Monopoly 70th Anniversary Edition came from mom and dad. Very Cool!
-Grandma and Papa gave me Mario Kart Super Circuit for GBA and some screwdrivers and Candy.
-A Coffee Maker from Bob and Lorie (we needed a bigger one than the one we had)
-A Glass cake plate from Sue and Martin and the kids
-Monopoly Fridge Magnets from my Uncle Grant.
-A soft snowman that stands up from my Aunt Colleen and cousin Lindsay.
-Can't remember right now but i think it was also Christine who got me two other Simpson’s ornaments....I'll have to look into who got me that.
-Grandma Isabel gave us 20 bucks and we put bought a keyboard, mouse , speaker set that was on sale at CBIT for $19.99

From Jacqui's Family

-The book "The Da Vinci Code" from Jacqui's mom and dad.
-A big ass clay poker set
-Two movie passes
-Paris wall art
-20 bucks at Rainbow cinema from Jocelyn and Todd.
-6 pack of glass coke bottles (full for me to drink)
-Chocolate
-10 bucks for Tim Horton’s (used 4 of it so far)
-Rotary tool

-From Jacqui’s Granny I got tools….Tape Measure, multi-bit screwdriver, pliers, and a hammer. Good stuff for having in the van.

-There has to be something else but I'm forgetting. Once I figure out what it was I'll add it in.

Now I received two of the same rotary tools. This is funny because Christine got a phone call from Jacqui's mom to tell her that she bought me one. Jacqui also e-mailed my Dad to tell him and I still got two...Well I returned one of them to Canadian tire and bought a forever flashlight (the ones that uses a LED light and you shake to power it up. I like it a lot.)

I think that Christmas was a very good haul this year. Next year once Jacqui and I are married this will probably change .

Happy new year everyone!
